Transform a cylindrical panoramic into cubic panoramic
11 answers.

Hello everybody !

Sorry I'm french and my Spanish is very bad - I learned it when I was a child ;-)

My panoramics are cylindrics ones. I use Realviz Stitcher 5 to export them into Photoshop in cylindrical pictures after the stitch, so that I can work on them.

The problem is that then, I can't transform them into cubic images. When I import again my pictures into Stitcher, this software only purpose to transform cylindrical pictures into Quicktime cylindrical pictures.

Is there a solution to upload my panoramics in ViewAt.org ? For example, can I use Photoshop to cut my pictures in 4 faces ?

See you soon :-)

Thanks a lot Iban for your answer. :-)

So, I will try in cylindric QTVR tomorrow. 8-)

Maybe a stupid question : why isn't it possible to simply upload the panoramas in a Jpeg picture ?

This is due to limitations of the panoramic viewer... :-/

Well, in fact this is not resolve my problem : the only Quick time VR I can export with Realviz Stitcher is cylindrical QTVR. It means that my panorama can not be cut in 4 faces. :-(

So, is there another method to cut a large cylindrical picture in 4 cubes ?

Salut Gild.

As tu essayé avec le programme Pano2QTVR ? Il me semble qu'il permet de faire ce que tu cherches.

Gild which system are you using PC or MAC? If you use pc the option our of Santcer it´s very good. If you use mac you can do it with cubicconverter. Also the new version of ptgui 8.2 can do it directly so you can choose plenty of options ;).

Thanks Santcer and Bernard for your answer :-)

I am using PC with Windows XP. So I will try as you as I can the solution of Santcer, especially I saw in internet that it exists a free version.

I hope I would be able to show you my work soon ! :-)

Well, even Pano2QTVR not permetted to transform a cylindric Project into cubic one. So I think it's not possible at all, unfortunately. :-(

I just uploaded my first panoramic in ViewAt ! ;-)

Gibie (http://viewat.org/?i=fr&id_aut=443&sec=pn), gave me the solution in another forum : with Photoshop I create a working space as large as the picture but once more high. So, Pano2QTVR think it's an cubic project !

The only problem I have to solve yet, is that my panoramics are not 360°. So you can see the junction between the start and the end (http://viewat.org/?i=fr&id_pn=6319&or_pn=&sec=pn&subsec=rc)

Thanks all for your participation ! :-)
